Drupal Redesign: The Strong

This post is part of a series about our implementation of Drupal during the redesign of www.museumofplay.org and the launch of the Strong.

Well, after working on this for a long, long time, I'm proud to say that the Museum of Play's new family of websites has been launched.

The Museum recently rebranded, creating the Strong, an umbrella entity with 5 "play partners": The National Museum of Play, the International Center for the History of Electronic Games, the National Toy Hall of Fame, the Brian Sutton-Smith Library and Archives of Play, and the American Journal of Play. What a mouthful!

To support this brand initiative, we've created 6 new interconnected websites. We used Drupal to build everything. I was in charge of building the Drupal architecture, creating the 6 distinct themes from designs developed by Lichtenstein + Associates, and designing and tweaking various parts of the site. I didn't do any of the Flash development, that was the realm of my colleague Dan Resch.

I think it's a pretty big accomplishment and I'm happy with the result! I'll be posting more detailed information on how I used Drupal here and on drupal.org, so stay tuned...
