The New WesJones.net! Now with more Drupal 7!

Finally!

Welcome to WesJones.net, the Personal Blog of Web developer Wes Jones (me). I started this blog in 2009, to write about Web development, and whatever else. Over time, I've tried to share bits of knowledge about Drupal that I've learned along the way.

I originally set it up using Wordpress and a contributed theme. Somewhat embarrasingly, I kept seeing my theme on other sites. And, with my focus turning almost exclusively to Drupal, the time came to redesign the site. Trying to be forward thinking, I chose Drupal 7.

The Asian-inspired Bamboo theme was conceived and designed in October 2010. (I know, it's taken a long time!) The bamboo graphics are custom vectors that I designed (with some help from Nick La). Here's a few versions how the design went from horrible, to not quite horrible.

The Drupal 7 development was quite instructive, if arduous at times. It took a lot longer than I expected, but here we are! Several custom modules were written for some of the site features. I've pushed them to Github:
